Meet Andy and Nic, the founders of MooBoo Home

MooBoo Home is owned by Andy and Nic Bouchard, a husband-and-wife team and is based in the heart of the Devon countryside, within the grounds of Cockington Country Park. To the rear of the historic Cockington Court you will find a cluster of craft studios, and MooBoo Home can be found in the Stable Yard. We design and make on site, and our visitors can watch us work and talk to us about our designs as well as view our timbers and choose the perfect piece of reclaimed timber for their design. We have a showroom which is ever changing, no two visits are the same, our creations change weekly depending on the reclaimed timber available at time.

London Garden Shed

MooBoo Home started under a gazebo in our London flat in 2014 and has grown steadily ever since. From gazebo to shed, from London to Devon, from the garage to Cockington Court Craft Centre – it’s been quite the journey.

Shortly after opening our first Etsy shop, Handmade at Amazon was developed. Andy and Nic were asked, alongside 20 other handmade artisans, to be part of the launch event in London. Amazon sent a film crew to our flat and we were part of the initial promo videos for the Handmade section of the Amazon site. You can view the video here.

Andy and Nic are passionate about sustainability, reclamation, and energy efficiency. They design lighting and homewares that are forever fluid, changing with the raw materials that they have available, fluctuating with current styles and trends, responding to their clients wants and needs.

Visit our studio in the stunning grounds of Cockington Court to see their current creations, as well as discuss your design needs and choose the perfect piece of timber for your bespoke design.

MooBoo Home table and floor lamps create pockets of warmth, and ambience, in your home by carefully placing our wall or floor lamps with decorative bulbs around your space. We are inspired by the timber and ceramics that we find, and we create lamps for ambience, warmth and to evoke that cosy hygge feeling. We match the bulb to the lamp making the piece itself completely unique. Choose from any of our ready to ship lamps in the studio or ask them to design something unique for your space.

MooBoo Home specialise in bespoke wooden beam chandeliers made from reclaimed, and sometimes historic, timber - and as such, each are unique. Our lighting fixtures can be rustic or industrial, have shades or exposed bulbs, and can be contemporary or vintage in design. We create chandeliers that match you, your home, your style and help you find your desired ambience. We have hundreds of Italian fabric cables and many styles and colours of components and have lots of stunning reclaimed timbers to choose from. If we don’t have the exact right piece, we will find it for you.

Our outdoor lighting can transform a garden at the flick of a switch. Say goodbye to boring black plastic cables, fixed wall lights and solar fairy lights, and say hello to creative, mains powered, stunning lighting. Andy and Nic can make an outdoor weatherproof lighting system to suit your space and style, from cable sets to stand alone tree lamps, they can take your outdoor space from lovely to fabulous.

MooBoo Home bespoke clocks are the perfect addition to any space. Made from oak whiskey barrel lids or cable reel ends, each is different from the next. You choose the exact timber, colour, numbers or numerals, mechanism colour and we do the rest.

Our acoustic speakers don’t need cables or batteries, they are perfect to use in the garden, park or at the beach, the sound from your phone can be brilliantly amplified from our unique passive speakers. Andy and Nic use genuine vintage phonograph horns or make wooden acoustic speakers, which can be personalised with images and text, the perfect unique gift. Designed with you and handmade in the studio – you can be guaranteed there won’t be another like it! We print directly onto the timber, then Andy painstakingly inks in the design and text.

We have recently gone viral on TikTok with our vintage phonograph horn speaker.

Cluster pendant lights are very popular for spaces with high ceilings, such as hallways, staircases, or homes with vaulted ceilings. These custom pendants are perfect for those homes where reclaimed timber wont suit, but there is a want, and need, for something different and unique. Andy and Nic will work with you to create the perfect design for your home.

MooBoo Home make a range of wall lighting to suit any space. With our stunning range of decorative Italian fabric cables, made to your custom length, you can now place a wall light anywhere in your home, there’s no need for expensive electrical work to put in mains power. Perfect for bedsides, firesides, a gloomy corner or next to your favourite chair, we can design something perfect for you. Add a little bit of hygge to your interior with one of our unique wall or table lamps.

We source a lot of our wood from timber recycling project’s, whose aim is to rescue, re-use and recycle tonnes of wood otherwise destined for landfill. We love old and historic timbers and try and find out as much as they can about their original use, the location and dates of the original build, which we share with our clients. The history of the timber is an important aspect of our business, and we can even place a small plaque on the fixture detailing is history.

Reclaimed or vintage materials are an intrinsic part of our design, but we don’t use second hand electrical components. Our cables, lamp holders, switches and plugs are brand new and all come from reputable suppliers. All our lamps and fixtures undergo end of line electrical testing and are UKCA certified before leaving the studio. We have a huge range or decorative and functional LED bulbs, and you can find a wide range on our studio.

Our Ethos
We believe that timber is beautiful no matter its age or previous use. We try and re-use everything we can in today’s throw away world and hope that we can make a small and beautiful difference to our planet and our homes.

Re-claim. Re-use. Re-love.
