At MooBoo Home, everything starts the same way it always has — with a conversation, an idea, and usually a pencil.

For years, we’ve designed our bespoke lighting the traditional way. A quick sketch, drawn to scale, based on your room, your table, your ceiling height. It’s simple, honest, and it works. In fact, we still love it. There’s something about a hand-drawn design that feels personal — because it is.

But as our designs have become more ambitious, and as more of our clients come to us with unique spaces and bold ideas, we’ve started to recognise something:

Sometimes, a sketch isn’t quite enough.

The Challenge with Bespoke Lighting

When you’re commissioning a one-of-a-kind piece — whether it’s a wooden beam chandelier, a driftwood pendant, or a cluster of Organic Evo bulbs — you’re making decisions without ever seeing the final piece.

You’re imagining:

• The spacing

• The drop lengths

• How the light will sit in your room

For some people, that’s easy. For others, it’s much harder.

And that’s where we’ve started to evolve our process.

Introducing Design Visualisations

We’ve begun using digital design visualisations to help bring your ideas to life before we even step into the workshop.

If you send us a photo of your space — your dining table, your kitchen island, your stairwell — we can now create a visual representation of how your bespoke light might look in situ.

It allows you to see:

• How a triple pendant sits over your table

• Whether level or staggered drops feel right

• How different timbers (like Norwegian spruce, oak, or driftwood) change the look

• How bulb choices, like Organic Evo in gold, shape the overall feel

It turns an idea into something much more tangible.

Every MooBoo light is still:

• Handcrafted in our Devon workshop

• Made to order

• Completely unique

The visualisations are simply a tool — a way to help you feel confident in your decisions before we begin.

In fact, the process still often starts the same way:
A conversation. A sketch. A bit of back and forth.

The difference is, we can now take that sketch one step further.

They’re still a core part of how we think, design, and collaborate with you.
